A 10-year legal saga has ended in Paris after the Cour de Cassation, the highest court in France, pronounced that Van Gogh’s “Jardin à Auvers” is authentic. The painting made legal history in France when its owner sued the French State, and won because the painting had been refused an export licence by the government, That victory had a lasting impact on the system of art exports from France.
