  Discount for buying art nude..
"A gallery owner has created a stir by encouraging visitors to an exhibition of nudes to strip off to help them to feel closer to the art, he said today. Kevin Money, 39, is offering 25% off any purchases of works from the Bodyline exhibition at Gallery 39 in Swindon, Wiltshire, to anyone who bares all. But so far, local residents have shown an indifference bordering on hostility to the offer."

BgArt News Blog Comments:
I think this is a great idea. What a way to challenge the viewer to become the viewed and part of the exhibit themselves.

Yikes, I am sorry but really if I am going to go pick out some art I don't want to have to push past some nude hairy person to get to it. That is not to say that the human body is not beautiful, I just happen to prefer to have a few things left to the imagination =) Plus I know that for me personally I would be doing the general public a favor by remaining fully clothed! OY!

Incentives which titilate the consumer, literally!!

You call that piece of junk art???? they give artist licences to any idiot these days.

Some people respond to a challenge by stepping up to face it. Others pretend it's not there. And some are scared by it and get defensive.

I for one support challenges, whether they be to social norms or what we think is true. In a world where fine art is dismissed for formula television I am happy to walk nude through a gallery.

challenging the norms is important especially when it comes to art. and, like someone said... you become part of the art in participating. what i'd like to know is if the art dealer walks around nude in the gallery. he shouldn't challenge others if he's unwilling to be the first one, elsewise he's being a little pervy ;)

seems like something isn't quite working with the idea, I think that its because the focus of it ends up being for money and not for art, strip off and we'll give you a discount, if it was something else where you stripped nude for the art then it wouldn't bother me so much, but at the moment it just seems more like a stunt where the motivation for people is money and not art...

I believe that the gallery owner probably had nothing better on his mind then seeing so attractive people naked. Ofering them a discount? Most likely it was extremelly over priced anyway. What is the world coming too?

It is a funny picture, isn't it?
