The Physical Impossibility Of Death In The Mind Of Someone Living
Damien Hirst's shark is migrating to the United States from it current UK homeland. The dead shark floating in formaldehyde is an iconic work that symbolizes the Britart movement and won Hirst a Turner prize nomination in 1992.
British art collector and advertising whiz Charles Saatchi has sold the work for more than 6.2 million pounds to an American collector that will donate it to the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Sounds like a well traveled shark, even in its afterlife. Wasn't the shark caught in Australia? I think I read that somewhere.
Anyway, I hope "the physical impossibility of death in the mind of someone living" lives a happy life wherever it ends up.
(I still believe a preserved dead shark should be in an historical museum rather than an art museum, but such is life. (and bravo to Damien Hirst for being smart enough to make a dead shark art!).
