Naked Disabled Woman Sculpture

A 12 foot/3.6 meter tall marble sculpture of a disabled pregnant woman is challenging people's ideas of beauty and what public art is in Britain. The sculpture will be on display in the popular Trafalgar Square for the next 18 months.
British artist Marc Quinn depicts fellow artist Alison Lapper, who was born with no arms, stunted legs, and was 8 months pregnant at the time of posing for Quinn.

"It is so rare to see disability in everyday life," said Lapper, "let alone naked, pregnant and proud."
"For me, Alison Lapper Pregnant is a monument to the future possibilities of the human race as well as the resilience of the human spirit," said Quinn. CNN
